It’s really unusual to have resorts added to Destination Escapes more than once a month — at least it has been since COVID. Marriott usually posts resorts you can use the Destination Escapes discount near the beginning of each month. And then last week I posted about the first International MVC listed on Destination Escapes in FOREVER that was added after the fact! Marriott must have heard my excitement, because less than a week later ANOTHER international property was added to Destination Escapes — this one is in Australia — also for August reservations!! The good news — it’s a GREAT DEAL! The bad news — there aren’t many dates you can choose from to use the discount, and they are only for 3 or 4 nights in guestrooms.
Still this Destination Escapes is worth highlighting. If you check-in on August 22nd for 4 nights, you would only need 240 points! Normally it would take 700 Club points for same room and date. That’s 66% LESS!
Just to refresh you on the other international property available on Destination Escapes, you can stay at Marriott’s Mai Khao Beach in Phuket, Thailand, which gives you a 45% discount if you stay the first part of August. You would be a 2-bedroom villa for 7 nights for only 1260 points! If you are fortunate enough to get away to this destination, ideally you would go sometime the first half of August. If you go later than the 15th, it isn’t as a good a deal — only 13% off what Club Points would normally be required during that time.
Grand Chateau in Vegas is still available for August using the Destination Escapes discount, but not for 7 nights anymore — those have all sold out. You can go for 4 nights in a 1-bedroom villa for 480 points. Three nights are also available. Best DEAL for this is checking in on August 27th for 4 nights — saving almost 400 Club points — 44% discount.
Another new resort added to Destination Escapes for August is Cypress Harbour in Orlando, FL. All villas are 2-bedroom and to stay here for 7 nights, it would be 1260. The BEST VALUE and DEAL for this property using the Destination Escapes discount is checking in anytime August 1-19th for 7 nights. You would save 33%, or over 600 Club points!
Hands down Destination Escapes is the BEST WAY to get the MAXIMUM Value for your Club Points. You can use holding points for these. And you aren’t required to attend a Sales Presentation. WIN WIN and WIN!! Don’t roll your eyes when you see places like Australia and Thailand come up as an option. Think of the international owners that get excited seeing a good deal coming their way!! And who knows — maybe one of these times, you will take your significant other and get away to one of these international properties yourself!
